Unexpected

The library door slammed behind me. I walked side by side to Sebastian. He casually smiled at me, not knowing that his smile had made my day. I've been in love with him for the last two years, but he just thought of me as a friend. We walked through the hallway, almost at the breezeway when the principal announced through the intercom, a code red. A criminal was in our school. Sebastian and I looked at each other, both thinking the same thing. "Its just a drill"
But what if it wasn't. I could see it in his eyes, he had the same doubts. In a matter of seconds, we found our selves hidden in the girls bathroom. We sat there just looking around nervous but not yet scared. The door handle suddenly jingled. "Shit!" His eyes seemed to tell me he had a plan. "Just distract him." he whispered. I stuck me hand into my book bag and grabbed my perfume bottle. I stood against the wall on the side of the bathroom door. Sebastian stood right in front of the door. Ready to attack. The second the door opened I sprayed. Perfume landed on the mans eyes causing him to put his hands to his face. Taking the opportunity, Sebastian kicked him down, grabbed his hands and held them together. He took his foot casually placing it on both of the man's ankles, pretty much binding him to the bathroom floor. "Grab the gun," he commanded. I did as told. "As long as I'm safe," I thought. I took my cell phone out of my pocket and called 9-1-1. "I'm at Johnson Middle School! Girls bathroom by the breeze way! My name is Victoria, I'm holding a man down with help from my friend. He seems dangerous, I'm holding his gun in my hand! Please come fast!"
"We are on our way, Miss. Please stay calm."

Good thing, the police station, was only a mile from the school. In close to no time, the sirens seemed to be feet away. Quickly enough, a police opened the door and grabbed the criminal.
"Do any of you watch America's Most Wanted?"
Sebastian and I both nodded no. " I noticed. This man is a wanted by most of America. He travels from school to school holding children hostage for ransom. Children are hurt and even shot. If it weren't for you two. Children here could've been his next victims."
Sebastian and I both blushed. Ms. Candrall bursted into the bathroom soon after, hugging us and praying. She took us to her office. "Wait here." she ran to the Main Office. Sebastian and I looked straight ahead and then at each other and smile. His hand barely touched mine. And then his eyes stared into mine, and he kissed me. Like a scene from a movie. So unexpected. Ms. Candrall walked into her office and he pulled away still holding my hand. She was carrying the intercom microphone. Go on, go on to class. I'll make an announcement now. Do not tell anybody what happened, I want it to be a surprise. We walked upstairs, still holding hands. " So we're---"
"Going out? Yeah" he interrupted. The blinking lights in the hallway had turned off meaning the code red was over. Mrs. Amberly opened the door on the first knock. When the class saw us walked in they all stood up, ran to us and gave us a hug. "Oh, my God. We were so worried! Wait, were you and him holding hands?" I started blushing. Luckily, Ms. Candrall announced on the intercom. " Today there was a code red. This time it was no drill. It was the real deal. Fortunately, two students saved the school from this criminal. Sebastian Anders and Victoria Jimenez. If you see them, thank them, not just for stopping this criminal, but for possibly saving not only your lives, but the lives of many others. And tell them to stay after school, the news and the police want to ask them a few questions."
" So that's what you were doing"
"Victoria? You fought this criminal?"
" No body let me finish! So you guys are dating now?"
" Yeah" Sebastian and I said simultaneously.
" Wow. That's so unexpected"

And so it was, but it also shows that if you put your mind to something, no matter how negative the odds, it can happen.
